Law360, New York (February 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Wednesday brought bad news for a slew of the nation's largest health insurance companies, with New York Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo revealing that he had been prompted to take legal action after an industrywide investigation into an alleged scheme to defraud consumers by manipulating reimbursement rates.
At the center of the alleged scheme is Ingenix Inc., the nation’s largest provider of health care billing information, said Cuomo, who undertook a six-month investigation into the issue.
