Investors Can Combine Suits Against Madoff Feeder Tremont

Law360, Chicago (September 3, 2013, 8:17 PM EDT) -- Investors who brought seven separate complaints against Tremont Group Holdings Inc. over losses incurred in Bernard L. Madoff’s epic Ponzi scheme will get the chance to merge their cases and bring new claims against the hedge fund group, a New York federal judge ruled Tuesday.

U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Griesa dismissed the seven lawsuits in a court order, agreeing with Tremont — which managed the second largest feeder fund tied to Madoff’s fraud — that the suits were barred by the Securities Litigation Uniform Standards...
