SEC Eyes Latham Big-Wig For New Chief Attorney

Law360 (December 6, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox will soon name a well known former attorney and former physicist as its new chief legal officer, according to inside sources.

The candidate, Brian G. Cartwright, is currently an attorney at Latham & Watkins LLC’s Los Angeles office. He has worked on securities and finance matters for public companies since at least 1982, after receiving his law degree from Harvard.
