Patient Recruiters Admit To $48M Medicare Fraud Scheme

Law360, New York (September 4, 2013, 7:18 PM EDT) -- Two patient recruiters with a Miami health care company have admitted to taking kickbacks in exchange for fraudulently billing government health programs in connection with a $48 million home health Medicare fraud scheme, federal prosecutors in Florida announced Wednesday.

Elizabeth Monteagudo and Cristobal Gonzalez, both of Miami, pled guilty Tuesday before U.S. District Judge Joan A.
