Oasis Petroleum Lands ND Assets In $1.5B Deal

Law360, New York (September 5, 2013, 2:46 PM EDT) -- Houston-based oil and gas company Oasis Petroleum Inc. is shelling out $1.5 billion for about 161,000 net acres in North Dakota's oil-rich Williston Basin that will boost its holdings by 49 percent, the company said Thursday.

Oasis said it has signed four separate and unrelated purchase and sale agreements for the assets, which bring its holdings from 331,000 net acres to 492,000. The company did not disclose the identities of the sellers, and the acquisitions are expected to close in early October, according to Oasis....
