SEP Owners Face More Contract Suits After Motorola Verdict

Law360, New York (September 5, 2013, 8:45 PM EDT) -- Licensing standard-essential patents became a riskier proposition Wednesday when a jury found that Google Inc.'s Motorola Mobility LLC was liable for breach of contract for making an unreasonable license offer to Microsoft Corp., opening the door to more such suits against owners of essential patents, attorneys say.
