Warner To Pay Mylan $12M In Damages After Doryx IP Row

Law360, Los Angeles (September 5, 2013, 6:16 PM EDT) -- Warner Chilcott PLC and Mayne Pharma International Pty. Ltd. have agreed to pay $12 million to Mylan Inc. and Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. to resolve Mylan’s damages claim following patent litigation over Warner’s acne drug Doryx, according to a regulatory notice filed Wednesday.

The parties have agreed to settle Mylan’s claims under a $36 million bond posted by the two companies in September 2011 in connection with a suit accusing Mylan of infringing U.S. Patent Number 6,958,161, covering Warner’s 150-milligram Doryx product. The merits of the litigation...
