US Investigates GSK Following Chinese Bribery Claims

Law360, Los Angeles (September 6, 2013, 8:48 PM EDT) -- U.S. prosecutors have begun investigating British drug giant GlaxoSmithKline PLC for violations of foreign bribery laws after Chinese officials launched their own probe into allegations the company bribed doctors to win their business, according to the company.

A GSK representative confirmed in a statement the U.S. Department of Justice is looking into the bribery accusations against the company in China. U.S. authorities have been probing GSK's business practices overseas for several years.
