ABC Affiliate Pushes Aereo Ban After FilmOn Ruling

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 3:53 PM EDT) -- In the wake of a court ruling banning streaming service FilmOn X across most of the country, Boston's local ABC affiliate pressed a federal judge on Friday to issue a similar order in its case against rival service Aereo Inc. 

Hearst Corp.-owned WCVB TV formally notified a Massachusetts federal court of the Thursday FilmOn X ruling, which found that the service likely violated copyrights by rebroadcasting network TV.
