Australian Cement Co.'s Contracts Hurt Competition

Law360, New York (September 11, 2013, 6:05 PM EDT) -- An Australian court ruled Tuesday that Cement Australia Pty Ltd. entered into business contracts that lessened competition for an ingredient used in ready-mixed concrete, but found the company did not abuse its market power in the contract bidding process.

Justice Andrew Greenwood of the Federal Court in Brisbane issued interim declarations in a case being prosecuted by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.
