Appetite For Real Estate Debt Grows As Returns Justify Risk

Law360, New York (September 11, 2013, 7:34 PM EDT) -- Institutional investors are more attracted than ever to investing in real estate debt held by private funds, experts say, noting that over the past 18 months the potential returns have justified the risk for the first time in a while.

According to new research released this week by investment analysis firm Preqin, institutional investor appetite for real estate debt investments has grown from 8 percent in December 2011 to 23 percent in August 2013.
