Lingerie Co. Sues Shaver Maker Over 'Skintimate' Brand

Law360, New York (September 11, 2013, 6:49 PM EDT) -- Lingerie company Gelmart Industries Inc. sued battery and personal care product manufacturer Everready Battery Co. Inc. in New York federal court Monday, asking for a declaration that it hasn't infringed a Everready trademark with its "Skintimates" bras, panties and sleepwear.

Everready has a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office registration on the wordmark "Skintimate" for women's shaving products, according to two cease-and-desist letters Everready sent to Gelmart.

Gelmart says that its own "Skintimates"-brand products are confined to the women's undergarment industry, which Everready and its parent Energizer...
