Phasing In San Francisco's Proposition E Tax Increases

Law360, New York (September 13, 2013, 12:55 PM EDT) -- San Francisco’s new gross receipts tax and business registration fee, approved by voters in November 2012 as Proposition E, will begin to phase in over a five-year period starting Jan. 1, 2014. The gross receipts tax and business registration fee replace the current payroll tax that is phasing out over the same five-year period.
