Scandlines Valued At $1.7B In 3i Takeover Offer

Law360, New York (September 12, 2013, 3:53 PM EDT) -- Private equity firm 3i plans to buy the remaining 50 percent of European ferry operator Scandlines AG from Allianz Capital Partners, the company announced Thursday, in a deal reportedly worth at least $1.7 billion.

After six months of negotiation and bidding from several investment firms, 3i said it had made an offer to take over Scandlines by purchasing all of Allianz Capital Partners’ shares.
