'Court Is Not A Travel Agent,' NY Judge Tells Ex-E&Y Atty

Law360, New York (September 12, 2013, 7:56 PM EDT) -- In a saucy opinion released on Wednesday, a New York federal court squarely rejected a convicted former Ernst & Young attorney's attempt to avoid testifying in a related tax evasion trial because he already had plans for the Jewish high holidays.

Prosecutors in the trial of former Jenkens & Gilchrist attorney Paul Daugerdas and former BDO Seidman CEO Denis Field subpoenaed Robert B. Coplan, requiring him to travel to New York from West Virginia, where he currently resides in federal prison.
