Gov't Contractor ResCare Settles DOL Anti-Male Bias Claims

Law360, New York (September 13, 2013, 3:41 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor said Thursday it had struck a deal with a unit of federal contractor ResCare Inc. to resolve allegations that the company had violated an executive order by discriminating against dozens of men who sought jobs as in-home caregivers.

Investigators from the DOL's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs found that ResCare HomeCare Spokane's selection process resulted in "systemic hiring discrimination." According to the OFCCP, this runs afoul of Executive Order 11246, which prohibits federal contractors from discriminating based on sex and other factors...
