Sen. Calls For Currency Manipulation Crackdown In TPP

Law360, New York (September 16, 2013, 7:19 PM EDT) -- Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, said Friday that U.S. trade negotiators should press for rules protecting against currency manipulation as part of trade negotiations like those for the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Following a meeting with the United Auto Workers and the management of a Ford Motor Co. plant in Sharonville, Ohio, Portman said in a statement Friday that he would join with other lawmakers in pushing U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman and Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew to seek protections in the TPP against currency manipulation....
