Boston Scientific Settles Coronary-Stent Patent Disputes

Law360, Washington (September 17, 2013, 5:01 PM EDT) -- OrbusNeich Medical Inc. and Boston Scientific Corp. have agreed to a settlement, ending litigation in both Massachusetts federal court and several European countries over BSC’s alleged misappropriation of OMI’s patented coronary stent designs during joint venture talks, the companies announced Tuesday.

Under the terms of the deal, Natick, Mass.-based BSC will make a one-time, undisclosed payment to OMI, resolving stent-related disputes between the companies in Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands and the U.K., in addition to the Massachusetts case.
