SEC Taps Cleary Gottlieb For Top-Notch Talent

Law360 (December 9, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- If the best offense is a good defense, then the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission clearly sees international law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP as both a formidable adversary and a fertile ground for hiring of top-notch talent.

The regulating agency’s outgoing general counsel, Giovanni Prezioso, was partner at Cleary Gottlieb’s Washington, D.C. office before jumping ship to become the SEC’s chief legal officer in April 2002.
