Univ. Of Pittsburgh Fires Up Cell-Incubation Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 19, 2013, 4:53 PM EDT) -- The University of Pittsburgh hit Molecular Devices LLC with a patent suit in Pennsylvania federal court on Wednesday, alleging the biotechnology firm’s ImageXpress Micro XL cellular imaging system infringes on four of the university's patents concerning a cell incubation and analyzing system.

The complaint accuses Molecular Devices of willfully infringing on patents concerning a device invented by Joel S. Greenberger, professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
