NJ Court Vacates $2.85M Defamation Award For NuWave

Law360, New York (September 19, 2013, 4:43 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Appellate Division on Thursday upended NuWave Investment Corp.'s $2.85 million award for a finance industry investigator's publication of allegedly defamatory statements, ruling that a jury in such cases can't award presumed damages on top of other, proven damages.
