MatlinPatterson Ends WARN Act Suit For $1.2M

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 1:19 PM EDT) -- MatlinPatterson Global Advisers LLC will pay $1.2 million to settle a class action brought by former employees of meat processing plants owned by the private equity firm alleging that they were not properly notified of the plants' closings and were misled about their employment status.

The terminated workers filed an unopposed motion for preliminary approval of the settlement on Tuesday and an updated brief laying out the settlement terms on Wednesday. MatlinPatterson's $1.2 million payment will release the claims brought by the workers under the Worker...
