Bondholder Suit Against Argentina Central Bank Gets OK

Law360, New York (September 25, 2013, 9:30 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge said Wednesday that bondholders who hold debt from Argentina can sue the nation's central bank to try to collect, rejecting Argentina's request that he throw the case out.

U.S. District Judge Thomas P. Griesa denied Argentina’s motion to dismiss a lawsuit against the Banco Central de la Republica Argentina, part of a sprawling international legal push to force the country to honor debt it restructured in 2001.
