ITC Begins Probe Of Electrical Steel From Asia, Europe

Law360, New York (September 26, 2013, 6:46 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission announced Wednesday that it will look into allegations from domestic steelmakers that seven countries in Asia and Europe harmed their business interests by dumping and subsidizing imports of grain-oriented electrical steel.

The ITC said it will investigate whether domestic industry was being threatened or injured by imports of the steel product, known as GOES, from China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Poland, Russia and South Korea that have been allegedly sold at less than fair value. At the same time, the...
