Ontario Pension Fund Buys 2% Stake In German Online Retailer

Law360, New York (October 2, 2013, 6:05 PM EDT) -- The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan, one of the largest pension funds in Canada, has taken a 2 percent stake in Germany's Zalando Ltd., the largest online fashion retailer in Europe, in exchange for an equity capital contribution, Zalando said Wednesday.

OTPP led the financing round in Zalando, which has brought in several new investors over the past year. Zalando may sell up to an additional 2 percent stake in the current financing round, it said.
