IT Contractor Gets 2 Years For Fraud Against Mayer Brown

Law360, Chicago (October 2, 2013, 3:32 PM EDT) -- The one-time head of an IT contracting business was sentenced to two years in prison Wednesday for teaming with a former Mayer Brown LLP chief information officer to victimize the firm in an alleged $4.8 million billing and kickback scheme.

Nicholas Demars, president of now-defunct company NS Mater, must also pay $1.1 million in restitution and forfeit two homes to the government, U.S. District Judge Edmond E. Chang ruled at a federal court hearing in Chicago.
