Ecuadorean Judge To Testify In $19B Chevron RICO Row

Law360, Los Angeles (October 2, 2013, 7:24 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Wednesday gave the green light allowing an Ecuadorean judge who handed down a $19 billion pollution judgment against Chevron Corp. to testify in the American fraud case in which Chevron contests that judgment, overriding objections from the oil giant.

The decision comes just two days after Chevron told the court that it would not seek money damages against Steven R. Donziger, a lawyer it accuses of fraud in the lawsuit, as long as the court rules that the company’s claims...
