Hungary Latest To Probe MasterCard Fees

Law360, New York (February 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- MasterCard is facing yet another investigation into its controversial interchange fees, with Hungary's antitrust agency launching a probe into the practice.

“On Jan. 31, 2008, the Hungarian Competition Authority commenced a formal investigation of MasterCard Europe's domestic interchange fees in Hungary,” MasterCard said in a regulatory filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday.
