Jury Hits HTC With $1M In Damages In Tech Patent Row

Law360, Los Angeles (October 3, 2013, 11:52 PM EDT) -- A California federal jury awarded Technology Properties Ltd. nearly $1 million Thursday after finding that HTC Corp. infringed six claims in a microprocessing patent co-owned by TPL.

Although the jury sided with TPL in the dispute, it also found that it wasn't highly probable HTC willfully infringed U.S. Patent No. 5,809,336, which covers a high-performance, low-cost microprocessor system that has a variable speed system clock.

California-based TPL, which filed for Chapter 11 in March, developed, manufactured and licensed high-technology products, according to court documents.
