NYC To Shell Out $6.5M To Ferry Crash Victim

Law360, New York (February 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A man who lost his leg in the 2003 Staten Island Ferry crash is reportedly set to receive a $6.5 million settlement to compensate him for his personal injury claims, marking New York City's latest payout to those who were harmed in the accident.

The city reached the deal with 61-year-old Shriram Agni, whose right leg was crushed when the Andrew J. Barbieri ferry slammed into a concrete pier on Staten Island, killing 11 people and injuring dozens more, the Associated Press reported Wednesday.
