Gutride Safier Drops Meddling Claims Against Ex-Partner

Law360, Los Angeles (October 3, 2013, 9:45 PM EDT) -- Intellectual property law firm Gutride Safier LLP asked a California federal judge on Tuesday to dismiss its claims that a former partner was interfering in retained cases in violation of their withdrawal agreement.

U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen approved the motion, with each party pay their own attorneys’ fees and costs. Gutride Safier was seeking a determination that a contract Michael Reese signed before leaving the firm was binding, while Reese, in a counterclaim, was suing the firm for breach of contract.
