Lott's Conduct Comes Under Scrutiny

Law360, New York (February 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Federal investigators are reportedly taking a hard look at former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott in an attempt to determine whether he played a role in the bribery scandal currently engulfing his brother-in-law, famed tort lawyer Richard “Dickie” Scruggs.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. attorney's office in Oxford, Miss., are scrutinizing Lott in connection with allegations that Scruggs and others tried to press a state judge to issue a favorable ruling in an asbestos-litigation fee dispute, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday....
