Fannie, Freddie Launch Joint MBS Platform

Law360, New York (October 7, 2013, 8:55 PM EDT) -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the two government-sponsored enterprises that failed in the wake of the housing crisis, launched a shared platform for issuing mortgage-backed securities, according to a statement Monday by the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Fannie and Freddie will share and operate the platform, called Common Securitization Solutions LLC, the agency said Monday.

The FHFA said it has filed the paperwork and leased office space for the securitization entity.
