USDA Threatens To Close Poultry Facilities Linked To Outbreak

Law360, New York (October 9, 2013, 6:38 PM EDT) -- California-based poultry farm Foster Farms received a warning from the U.S. Department of Agriculture that three of its facilities tied to an ongoing salmonella outbreak would be closed down if the company does not explain to the agency how it plans to stop the outbreak, according to Wednesday news reports.

USDA issued a letter to Foster Farms telling it that it has until Thursday to inform the agency what it intends to do to arrest the outbreak, according to a report by the AP.
