Turner Asks TTAB To Block Disney's 'Oz' Trademarks

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 9:35 PM EDT) -- Time Warner Inc. subsidiary Turner Entertainment filed several trademark opposition proceedings against the The Walt Disney Co. on Monday, seeking to block Disney from registering the name of its recent “Wizard of Oz” reboot.

Turner's four complaints with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board came in response to Disney's 2011 application to register four trademarks for “Oz The Great and Powerful,” the name of the studio's film released this year starring James Franco and Mila Kunis.
