KKR Nabs $200M Stake In Malaysian Helicopter Maker

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 1:37 PM EDT) -- Global asset manager KKR Co. has bought a 642 million ringgit ($200 million) stake in Malaysian helicopter company Weststar Aviation Services Sdn Bhd., the companies announced Wedesday.

Weststar, which ferries industrial workers to offshore oil and gas rigs, has many corporate clients, including ExxonMobil, Shell and Conoco Philips. New York-based KKR has offices in Southeast Asia and invests in helicopter companies, but this is its first foray into Malaysia.
