Aeronet Resolves Claims It Shipped To Banned Airline

Law360, Washington (October 10, 2013, 8:58 PM EDT) -- Freight company Aeronet Inc. on Wednesday agreed to settle an administrative proceeding brought by the U.S. Department of Commerce charging it with illegally forwarding about $130,000 worth of computer parts for an Iranian airline currently subject to a department denial order.

The action resolves allegations that Aeronet acted as a freight forwarder to the denied entity Mahan Airways, according to a settlement agreement by the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security.

Aeronet will also pay a $27,000 penalty, according to administrative documents.
