Calif. AG Hits Corinthian Colleges With False Ad, Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 6:00 PM EDT) -- California Attorney General Kamala Harris on Thursday charged Corinthian Colleges Inc. and its subsidiaries with targeting low-income residents with false and predatory advertisements, as well as securities fraud and unlawful use of military seals in ads.

According to the state's complaint, CCI and its subsidiaries that operate Everest, Heald and WyoTech colleges intentionally targeted low-income California residents through deceptive and false advertisements and aggressive marketing campaigns that misrepresented job placement rates and school programs.
