Facebook Axes Setting For Users To Hide From Searches

Law360, New York (October 10, 2013, 8:17 PM EDT) -- Facebook Inc. announced on Thursday that it plans to fully remove a feature that allows users to control whether others can search their Timeline profiles by name.

The feature, called "Who can look up your Timeline by name?", regulates whether users' profiles can be found by others through a name search on the social media website. Menlo Park, Calif.-based Facebook removed the feature from its privacy settings options late last year, but allowed users who already had the feature enabled to keep it intact.
