CFTC Can't Regulate Markets During Shutdown, Gensler Says

Law360, Washington (October 11, 2013, 4:36 PM EDT) -- U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission head Gary Gensler told reporters on Friday that his agency cannot perform its market oversight functions during the government shutdown as its staff has been whittled to 30 because of the funding stall.
