Andrews Kurth Sued Over $3M Fees In Martin Midstream Row
Law360, Houston (October 11, 2013, 6:07 PM EDT) -- A former shareholder of Martin Midstream Partners LP's parent company hit Andrews Kurth LLP with a malpractice suit in Texas state court Thursday, alleging the firm mishandled a settlement and litigation concerning control of the business, while charging him $3 million in attorneys' fees.
Scott D. Martin, who owned a stake in Martin Midstream's general partner, Martin Resource Management Corp., says the firm signed off on an unenforceable settlement agreement that purported to resolve a corporate governance dispute between Scott Martin and his brother Ruben, which created an avalanche of additional litigation.
