NJ County Exec Suing Freeholders Over Alleged Power Grab

Law360, New York (October 15, 2013, 5:19 PM EDT) -- Bergen County, N.J.'s top executive official has won a court order temporarily blocking the enactment of a freeholder-approved measure that she contends would improperly trim her powers over county government.

Superior Court Judge Menelaos W. Toskos on Friday granted Bergen County Executive Kathleen Donovan's bid for a temporary restraining order as the litigation moves forward, with another hearing currently scheduled for Oct. 31.
