Weighing In On TPP, US Pols Tout Japan Auto Investment

Law360, New York (October 15, 2013, 7:04 PM EDT) -- A group of nearly 80 lawmakers on Tuesday urged the Obama administration to consider the benefits of attracting international investment, such as that coming into the U.S. from Japanese automotive companies, as it continues to negotiate for the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership.

Reps. Alan Nunnelee, R-Miss., and Pete Gallego, D-Texas, along with 76 other House members from both parties sent a letter to President Barack Obama highlighting jobs that, they said, have been created in the U.S. as a result of investment by Japanese automakers. In addition...
