NY Graft Panel Readies Subpoenas For Lawmakers' Earnings

Law360, New York (October 15, 2013, 7:39 PM EDT) -- New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s powerful anti-corruption panel signaled Tuesday it would make good on threats to subpoena state legislators who lawyered up rather than bow to demands for information on their outside income streams.

The Moreland Commission — empanelled in July after the state legislature refused to pass campaign finance reform and anti-corruption bills — said that it had voted to “aggressively move forward in compelling production of information” after a September deadline passed for attorneys who also serve as part-time Albany legislators to turn...
