Harper Lee Sues Hometown Museum For Using 'Mockingbird'

Law360, New York (October 16, 2013, 4:31 PM EDT) -- Author Harper Lee lodged a trademark infringement lawsuit against a museum in her hometown of Monroeville, Ala., last week, claiming its operators were running an unauthorized shrine to her classic 1960 novel “To Kill a Mockingbird.”

Lee, who just wrapped up a separate lawsuit against her agent over royalties from the book, said in an Oct. 10 complaint that the Monroe County Heritage Museum uses her name and the title of the famed novel to advertise the museum, to sell souvenirs, and for the URL www.tokillamockingbird.com....
