Manufacturers Push For Congress To Act On Tariff Bill

Law360, Washington (October 17, 2013, 4:03 PM EDT) -- As the federal government returns to work, the National Association of Manufacturers on Thursday urged Congress to pass the Miscellaneous Tariff Bill and suspend some import taxes to boost the American manufacturing industry.

While a bipartisan group of six congressmen has sponsored the latest proposal to lower some import duties, the measure has languished in the House Ways and Means Committee since July 17, and the association claims that passing that bill would be “one of the easiest and most bipartisan ways” to jumpstart U.S. manufacturing...
