Claims Streamlined In Highland's Dispute With Ex-PE Head

Law360, Dallas (October 28, 2013, 9:15 PM EDT) -- A Texas state judge on Monday trimmed some claims Highland Capital Management LP’s former head of private equity and distressed debt made against the hedge fund firm and related entities, but refused requests to entirely dump claims for breach of fiduciary duty and conversion.

Dallas County District Judge Martin Hoffman also denied a summary judgment from former executive Patrick Daugherty that sought to exclude Highland’s expert report on alleged damages from the firm’s claim that he stole trade secret information when he left Highland in September...
