Commerce Faces CIT Challenge From Thai Shrimp Exporters

Law360, New York (October 18, 2013, 4:25 PM EDT) -- Five Thailand-based shrimp exporters filed suit Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade challenging the findings of a U.S. Department of Commerce countervailing duty investigation, which revealed the companies had received limited financial assistance from the Thai government.

Although the agency ultimately decided that the support the companies received was too minor to warrant imposing tariffs on U.S. imports of their frozen shrimp, Thai Union Frozen Products Public Co. Ltd., Thai Royal Frozen Food Company Ltd. and three other exporters objected to the department's determinations...
