Ex-New Orleans Mayor Nagin Loses Bid To Toss Bribery Case

Law360, New York (October 18, 2013, 6:53 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge on Friday refused to dismiss the corruption case alleging former New Orleans Mayor C. Ray Nagin awarded a host of city contracts to favored business partners in return for more than $200,000 in bribes and various gifts.

In a one-page order, U.S. District Judge Helen G. Berrigan denied Nagin’s motion to dismiss without elaborating on her reasoning, despite Nagin’s accusations of prosecutorial misconduct.
