White House Eyes Delay Of ACA Individual Mandate

Law360, New York (October 22, 2013, 1:27 PM EDT) -- The Obama administration may soon announce a brief delay of the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate, a government source said Tuesday, a move that might calm complaints over glitchy health insurance exchanges and erase confusion over the deadline to find coverage.

An official with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services told Law360 that regulators are looking at how they can eliminate a "disconnect" between the individual mandate's Feb. 15 deadline and the March 31 end of open enrollment through exchanges.
